M.N Uniform was launched in 2014 by Matt Nash. Growing up, his heroes wore aprons and coveralls, not capes. Following his fashion design degree, Matt undertook a post-grad thesis researching NZ made vintage workwear, compounding his love of beautiful uniforms that work.  Matt was instrumental in the setup of Auckland favourites Bolaven and Mexico restaurant and spent his early life in restaurants and cafes working as a barista, waiter, baker and general food obsessive. These 'on the floor' hospitality learnings are instilled in all M.N workwear.  With a penchant for the utilitarian aesthetic and backed by extensive experience in menswear and accessory design, Matt and his M.N Uniform team deliver workwear like no other. Proudly designed and made in New Zealand from his Northland base, M.N enjoys working with progressive businesses that take their brand seriously.
Our aprons are designed to be worn for years - they wear in, not out. We use tailoring techniques like double folding seams, a construction that means all the raw edges are sewn into the garment for a more premium and hard-wearing finish. You won't see any overlocking on a M.N apron or bag.  All M.N garments and bags are sewn in Northland in our studio, or in the home studios of our talented machinists. We love working with these amazing ladies who all bring a lifetime's experience to their craft. Their construction knowledge and expertise means all our styles are always undergoing small tweaks to provide sturdier and more robust construction.
At M.N Uniform it’s important to us that we operate in an ethical and sustainable manner.  Sustainability isn't just a buzzword for us, it's built into everything we do. We love to find creative, plastic-free ways to package your garments, which is why your M.N garment will be delivered in a recycled card box and be free of excessive plastic.  The embroiderer we work with to decorate our garments is a living wage employer who follows sustainable practices in all areas.
We can help you with your team’s full uniform by providing high-quality basics to complement our MN aprons. We partner with New Zealand company AS Colour to provide cost-effective, high-quality tees, long-sleeve shirts, caps and more. Our decorator of ten years can screen-print or embroider any apparel with your branding. We just require an EPS or JPEG file of your logo to get started.
We love teaming up with awesome people to create beautiful and unique products. We get a thrill from working on creative projects with awesome brands, designing something one-off that brings joy to customers. Some of our collabs have included custom tote bags for Ecostore, rucksacks for Triumph and Disaster, custom oilskin aprons for Orphans Kitchen, and leather luggage tags for Nurture Change - are you next?
